Delete Your Account
This page explains how to permanently delete your CHEQ account and the data associated with it. CHEQ is published by JMH Capital Group LLC (iOS app) and JMH Entertainment Inc. (Android app). You do not need the app installed to make this request.
Option 1 — Delete from inside the app
If you still have CHEQ installed, this is the fastest route and takes effect immediately:
- Open CHEQ and go to the Account tab.
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
- Confirm. Your account and associated data are removed right away.
Option 2 — Request deletion by email
If you have uninstalled the app or cannot sign in, email us and we will delete the account for you.
Send a message to support@cheqsports.com with:
- the subject line Account Deletion Request
- the email address on your CHEQ account, so we can locate it
We confirm deletion requests by replying to the email address on the account, so please send the request from that address where possible. We respond within 30 days, and in practice much sooner.
Want to delete only some of your data and keep your account? See Delete Some of Your Data.
What gets deleted
Deleting your account permanently removes:
- Your account record — email address, username, name, profile photo (if you added one), and password hash.
- Watchlist entries — every player, stat, and threshold you track.
- Saved slips and their legs, along with any games you follow.
- Chat messages you posted, plus any reports or blocks tied to your account.
- Followed teams and notification preferences.
- Usage records and your device push token, so notifications stop.
- Subscription event records held by CHEQ.
This is a hard delete, not a deactivation. It cannot be undone, and the data cannot be recovered afterwards.
What is retained, and for how long
- Nothing is retained by us for marketing. Your data is not sold, and we keep none of it after deletion beyond the backups and provider records described here.
- Backups. Residual copies may persist in encrypted database backups for up to about 3 months before those backups age out, after which they are gone. We keep nightly backups as 14 daily and 12 weekly copies, so the oldest copy is about 98 days old. Backups are used only for disaster recovery.
- Records we are legally required to keep. Where law requires retention of a transaction record, we keep only the minimum required and only for as long as required. This can include Apple or Google transaction identifiers for subscription purchases.
Data held by service providers
Our delete function removes your data from CHEQ's own systems. It does not yet remove records held by providers that process data for us: PostHog (usage analytics, keyed to your account ID), Sentry (crash reports, no email or name), and Meta (ad measurement events, sent only with your tracking consent). Those records are deleted under each provider's own retention schedule, not on a date we control. See the Privacy Policy for what each receives.
Your subscription is separate
Deleting your CHEQ account does not cancel a paid subscription, because Apple (iOS) or Google Play (Android), not CHEQ, manages that billing. Cancel it yourself before deleting, or you may continue to be charged:
- iPhone: open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Select CHEQ and tap Cancel Subscription.
- Android: open the Play Store, tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions. Select CHEQ and tap Cancel subscription.
Refund requests are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com or by Google Play at support.google.com/googleplay.
